Delhi police Selection Process

Education Qualification

The candidate must have passed the 10+2 examination from a recognized board. There are relaxations in education for candidates belonging to certain categories.

Age Limit

The minimum age for joining the Delhi Police is 18 years, and the maximum age is 25 years. There are relaxations in age for candidates belonging to certain categories.

Delhi Police Constable Exam Pattern

Computer Based Test ( CBT )

  • The CBT is conducted for 100 marks with a duration of 90 minutes.

  • It consists of objective type multiple-choice questions.

  • The CBT includes four sections: General Knowledge/Current Affairs (50 marks), Reasoning (25 marks), Numerical Ability (15 marks), and Computer Fundamentals (10 marks).

  • Each correct answer carries one mark, and there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each

Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

  1. Candidates are measured for height, chest, and weight in the PMT.

  2. For male candidates, the minimum height required is 170 cm, and the minimum chest size is 81 cm (unexpanded) and 85 cm (expanded).

  3. For female candidates, the minimum height required is 157 cm, and there are no chest requirements.

  4. There are no weight requirements for either male or female candidates

Physical standard test

  • The PST consists of a race and a long jump/high jump event.

  • For male candidates, the race is of 1.6 km, to be completed in 6 minutes, and the long jump/high jump is of 14 feet/3.9 feet.

  • For female candidates, the race is of 1.6 km, to be completed in 8 minutes, and the long jump/high jump is of 10 feet/3 feet.

Syllabus

The syllabus for the written examination for joining the Delhi Police includes the following subjects:

  1. General Knowledge: Indian History, Geography, Indian Polity, Indian Economy, Current Affairs, and Science & Technology.

  2. Reasoning: Analogies, Similarities and Differences, Spatial Visualization, Spatial Orientation, Problem Solving, Analysis, Judgment, Decision Making, Visual Memory, Discrimination, Observation, Relationship Concepts, Arithmetic Reasoning, Verbal and Figure Classification, Arithmetical Number Series, Non-Verbal Series, Coding and Decoding, Statement Conclusion, Syllogistic Reasoning.

  3. Mathematics: Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions, Relationship Between Numbers, Fundamental Arithmetical Operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work.

  4. Computer Fundamentals: MS Excel, MS Word, Communication, Internet, WWW, and Web Browser.
